Ride Pace

  • A – Slow – Less than 10 MPH, no experience required, regroups often, families with children welcome, group ride leader will provide instruction to get riders comfortable
  • B – Moderate – 12 to 15 MPH average, social pace, some experience required, ride leader focus on group riding, rider self sufficient (changing own tire), regroups every 30 min., waits for slower riders
  • C – Brisk – 14 to 17 MPH average on level terrain, experienced rider, introduction to pace-lining, regroups only as necessary
  • D – Training – Mostly level terrain, some climbing
  • E – Race – 25+ MPH on level terrain

Terrain

  • Flat
  • Rolling, easy grades (400’ in 15 miles)
  • Hilly, some climbing (750’ in 15 miles)
  • Very Hilly, moderate climbing (1,500’ – 2000’)
  • Climbing (over 2000’)
